Ok thanks you Budd, I didn't know that I had them he he. Would you know where the starter relay would be at all ?. I have no crank and have checked all the parts wires and every thing I could find, but I can't seem to find the starter relay . Thanks Paul

Since you have a 1982 model , I don't think you have a relay between the key switch and the starter solenoid . On later cars (like my 1989 , for ex.) the relay is part of the VATS (Vehicle Anti Theft System) and that relay is placed very near where the door lock relay you have pictured is located . As a last thought here , if you checked the key switch and the clutch pedal switch and have power when the key is in the start position , but no power at the solenoid's "S" terminal , you may want to check the pins in the body connector , called the "C100" connector , for corroded/burnt connection(s) .

Great stuff thank you again for your help. You are right that the 82 has no relay
and I should have crank when I turn the key. I have checked all the wiring and swapped out any issues I have also checked the fire wall plug and it's all good. I do not have any switch on the peddles as my car was an Auto and now has a T56 fitted. It must be a key switch issue I hope .

I saw you had made a new post , asking about the wires in the console .
I can tell you with 100% certainty that the large yellow and large purple must be connected together before your starter will crank the engine . Those two wires are supposed to connect to the neutral safety switch that was located on your (presumably now gone since you installed a manual shift) automatic transmission's original shifter . That switch was supposed to insure the starter would only operate in park or neutral .
The yellow one is coming from the key switch and should have 12V when the key is in the start position . The purple one is going to the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid . Without the neutral switch and with no jumper across those two wires , no power will get to the "S" terminal from the key switch .
In a factory installed manual transmission , those two wires would have run to the clutch pedal and connect to a switch that wouldn't let you crank the engine unless the clutch pedal was stepped on . Just know that without that switch , if the transmission is in any gear (1 through 6 or reverse) and the clutch isn't pushed when the key is turned to start , the car will lurch forward (or backward if in reverse) which is a major safety issue .
