what is it?

Unfortunately i do not have a picture yet but its behind the dash above the radio. Its light blue and has a pink wire with black stripe, 2 yellow wires, a white wire with green stripe and another white wire with a black stripe. It looks like a connector but with one end capped. I popped open the cap and it has a circuit board inside. I tried finding it on a schematic but have been unsuccessful. Vehicle is an 82 camaro z28. Was an LG4 but swapped with 350.

It sounds like the "service engine soon" light driver board .

Your Welcome , and yes , it seems to be a bit of an obscure part , with regards to most of the wiring diagrams I've seen for our cars . Bear in mind also , that only a certain set of the early third gens had a separate driver board like that , the early ones like your 82 , and I don't know what year they stopped using it and built it into the ECM . I do know that my 89 does not have the separate driver so it was at least 89 if not a year or few earlier when they did away with it .
