Starter wiring?
Hi everyone, first post.
So, I have an 86 IROC with an LG4 and a T5. The old starter quit working so I figured I'd get a powermaster mini starter. I'm not an idiot, and have changed many starters, but this one is different.
Where do the fusible links go? I could have a better idea if I knew where they came from. They are orange, and there are 3 of them. Two splice into one connector, and another has it's own. None of the links are burnt.
No matter how I hook this thing up, I turn the key and nothing happens. The temp gauge goes all the way past hot, and the rest of the car turns off. No fuel pump, stereo, lights, dead.
The starter is good, I did the old fashioned jumper cable test. The battery is new with a fresh trickle charge. I am getting 12.7 volts at the starter.
I was curious to see if the starter was getting power, so I grabbed on the solenoid and the bastard burnt me.
If anyone can help, I'd love to get my car on the road this spring.
