Detect speed
Hello
I installed a parking sensor in my GTA. It works great, but it has to be disabled when running. Since it's really uncomfortable to switch it on/off every time you need, I thought it would be nice to activate it only below a certain speed.
So my question is: what is the easiest way to check the car speed? I mean, does exist a particular wire with a particular voltage/current, or something similar?
thanks!!

Nick , I don't think you'll be able to directly hook your parking sensor up to the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) unless your parking sensor has specific provisions for doing so built into itself . Tell me , does this parking sensor monitor the back of the car so you don't back into anything while parking ? And if so , and if it does not monitor the front of the car , I think you'd be best served by hooking it up to the reverse lights , so that it's active only when in reverse . Thread Starter

Re: Detect speed
hello
im using it for the front. In the back, I have a camera. As for hooking the sensor with the VSS, this might be not directly possible, but Im able to make this kind of circuit oretty easily. I can make the circuits I want.
So my question is also: is there a cable or a signal or something that varies in voltage or current for me to somehow detect the speed?
thanks!!
