Burnt wires
Burnt wires
Two questions. My alternator cable burned up. I'm replacing. In the process I'm replacing the junction box that the alternator wire runs to. The wires that attach at the junction box received high heat in the process and while the wires look fine over all the ring connectors were burned and where they connect to the wires the plastic sort of melted and made that wire end blackened.
1) Can I just sand these clean or do I need to cut off these ends and attach new circular rings?
2) Does it matter the order those wires are connected in the junction box? I would not think so, but not taking anything for granted.
Thx.

Re: Burnt wires
Burnt wires should be replaced.
Make sure all your connections on the new wire are secure.
