left headlight motor problem

Hi, i have a problem with left headlight motor on my -87 GTA

It wont go up or down, i have changed the "bushings" in the motors.
They were a little bit worn but not much. I cleaned and greased the gears.
I have tested the motors and they spin as they should.

I have checked that i get power from the headlight control module.
I have checked that i have power in the socket for the motor, and its reversing when switching on / off...

Why does it not spin when motor is working and the module gives it power??

Can it be that i get too weak power to the motor and the module shut off when getting too high amps? or something like that?

Re: left headlight motor problem

First failure mode is broken bushings (you've replaced). Second failure mode is that the cast zinc hub that is staked to the shaft that raises and lowers the headlight bucket has stripped. You'll need to remove and verify that the shaft has indeed stripped out the center of the hub which is the softer of the two materials. If so you'll need to replace or repair the hub/shaft assembly. I stock all the parts needed to repair these 87-92 2-wire headlight motors (including this item). Click on the link below.

Re: left headlight motor problem

well, today i tried to measure what i get out from control module...
when im feeding a lamp from the control module, just to check if it can handle load. It wont light up. On the right side it does. I have to measure what goes in to the module to know if the feeding to module is weak or if the module is broken.

does someone know if the module has power feeding from one or two sources?
