how to get my sensors working? heat and fuel

i have a TPI 5.7l its swapped into my truck by previous.

i want to get the fuel level gauge working and the engine temp sensor working im not sure what to do since the wiring job is crazy looking and im not familiar with this stuff.

You might try a truck forum or buy a wiring diagram. The coolant temp wire green would go to the drivers side cylinder head between 1 &3 cylinder.
If grounded your gauge should peg.
The fuel gauge maybe purple same deal ground to peg the gauge to determine if it's a gauge or 0-90 ohm sender.you may even have a instrument cluster power supply issue.
