Limited Power to Fuse Box

I just recent bought an 82 Camaro Z28 that doesn't run due to limited power. After I charged the battery, the only thing that came on is the headlights, tail lights, and dome lights. When i tried to fire up the engine, NOTHING. No accessory power, no fuel pump, no radio, no buzzing, NOTHING. I even changed out the Ignition Switch and its still getting me the same results.

So, I started checking the power to the fuse box of each individual fuse outlets under the driver side. None of the fuses were blown, but all of the outlets were powerless except for: STOP HAZ, TAIL, and CTSY WDO. I'm convinced that it's an electric issue i'm facing. Is there an inline fuse or fusible link that may be causing this?

I'm stuck on where to begin. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

That simple, huh? Lol thanks for the help. I'll look into that soon. Would it be smart for me to go ahead and install a new starter while I'm at it?

Yes, it's that simple.

Read my signature: I live for "simple".

Depends on the starter you have now, and what "new" starter you would install. But IMO it would be smart to ditch the old 73.6-ton Delco direct-drive POS from the Stone Age and install a modern reduction-gear unit that weighs less than half as much and spins the motor 3 times as fast but uses a quarter the battery power. But that's just me. I'm kinda **** that way.

Any suggestions in particular? I've been thinking about a starter upgrade myself plus my neighbor needs a starter for his '88 GTA
Thanks!

Thanks man! You hit the nail on the head. The fusible link was corroded and deteriorated. Replaced it and it started up with no problem. You're that MAN @sofakingdom!!!!

Re: Limited Power to Fuse Box

Thanks! And you're welcome, glad to help.

You asked about starters... just about any modern starter is better than the old thing.

One popular choice is the stock one for the LT1 in about 96-97 Z28/TransAm.

Aftermarket ones are basically 2 types, based on either a Hitachi or a Nippondenso motor. The Hitachi is more or less similar in shape to the stock unit. The ND has a pronounced square-looking section. IMO the ND is the better one in terms of function, while the Hitachi is a somewhat easier fit in most situations; but both are so much better than the stock one that it's worth the effort.
