1987 wiring diagrams
Re: 1987 wiring diagrams
Check flea bay for an original service manual. I got one, I also have an 87 GTA but not with a digital dash. But the manual covers everything on the Firebird-Trans Am-GTA for 1987.
You can find them with prices ranging from 30 bucks to 200 bucks depending on their condition. I think I paid 65 bucks for mine, used (obviously) with some greasy fingerprints in it but no torn or missing pages. It has been a great tool to figure issues.
Not sure if flea bay links are ok here but here you go, here is an example. This is one on the lower end. I see no reason to pay more for a newer one when you're going to get it dirty anyway. Just be sure to get one with no missing pages.

The physical manual or an electronic version of it is your best and safest bet for true original diagrams. The manual has pages and pages of wiring schematics on everything from the power antenna to the TPI and ECU.

Links to the same electronic manual:

The Bishko CD-ROM shop manual for my Camaro that I purchased thru Rock Lobster has the same content as the GM bound manual - both service and electrical volumes. I don't know if this is an electronic version of the GM bound manual, or if Pontiac separated or combined the two manuals.
