Water temp gauge not working right
I have a 1991 camaro rs 5.0 and I'm having problems with my water temp gauge. When I start my car in the morning the temp gauge pegs out then goes to 100 like it's suppose to but as I drive it will stay around 100-110 until I turn my key off then re-start my car. Then it will go up to say 150 degrees and never move again unless I turn my car off and re-start it again. Then it will move up or down depending on the actual temperature of the car. The only way I can get it to show the proper current water temp is by turning the car off then starting it back up again... HELP

Temper Tantrum
Here’s how to test the temperature gage.
Disconnect the green wire from the temp sensor.
Clip in a 100 ohm resistor from that wire to the battery terminal.
Turn the key to RUN.
If the gage is good it will read about 220°.
Then you can drive around awhile over some bumps to give it a mechanical test as well.
