Crank Trigger LS Coils

So I posted about getting maybe a MS2 or MS3 Pro engine management system for my 89 GTA when someone suggested adding a crank trigger and LS Coils. Can anyone suggest any good articles to read about the conversation? I searched on here but no dice.

Thats going to be a fair bit of wiring work. There is not on off the shelf solution for that, although some of the MS3 pro stuff gets close. Not sure if you will find a how-to on it. You can read through the Msquirt manuals to get some ideas of how it will work.
Do you have a specific question ?

I meant how to convert over to Coil ignition. Probably could’ve left the mega squirt out of it. Lol

Re: Crank Trigger LS Coils

OK, so to run a coil-near-plug setup like an LS you would need to mount some kind of crank trigger wheel (most likely a 36-1 or 60-1) To the balancer. Then need a pickup to read that wheel (VR or hall). That pickup goes to whatever ECU is going to run the system. Also may need a cam sync trigger (SBC Vortec dizzy). Then need to mount and wire the individual coils, and wire them to the ECU.

EFI Connection has some hardware that could get you started :
