Hi! I have a 1992 camaro with the 305 and the T5 transmission. The car has been sitting for a little while and now the ignition is locked solid. What is the best way to get it loosened up? I really do not want to have to pay the expensive cost to have a new key and ignition coded if I can just get this one to break loose.

 

Pull the steering wheel to the left or right and try turning the key. Squirt a little powdered graphite in the lock cylinder, and slide the key in and out a few times. Make sure the key is all the way in. Try holding the key release button down and rock it back and forth. Push in on the key while you turn it. If none of that works, you're probably going to be digging into the column.
