Firebird headlight motor compatibility

I have an 83 firebird and one of the headlight motors is broken beyond repair (shell is cracked in half, some guts missing). I was looking for replacements and found several options:
  1. 82-85 - less common, ridiculously expensive
  2. 86-92 - common, affordable
  3. 93+ most common least expensive.

What are the major differences between the first two? Are they interchangeable with minimal electrical modification? Appreciate any help - thanks!

Re: Firebird headlight motor compatibility

I have an 84, 90 and 90 firebird. The parts are plentiful on the parts pages. If you need a early motor I have a few spares. PM me I can send you some pics and video
