Alternator Rewiring
Hey guys. I wanna redo the wiring for my alternator on my carbed 350 88 Firebird. The owners before me hacked up a lot of stuff on this car. I’ve had a lot of problems with this alternator system since I bought the car three years ago. I know that this is a three wire setup. A red thick gauge for the 12v constant, and excitement wire and a third wire thats ignition 12v key on. Right now I have a 140 amp powermaster alt on it runs great past 35mph. But it’s acting weird when I come to a red light. The volts will drop below 13 and the lights will flicker. Once I take off again the volts increase to past 13. It’s weird. So i wanna know how I can re-wire this alternator system up better to be standalone from the main harness and or the ecm too.
