Holley Sniper A/C ground not triggering Compressor
Hello all, I just switched over to a Holley Sniper and so far its running well. But one of the main reasons i got it was so it can control Ac grounding of the relay as i was having issues with it [details below]
on the sniper 10 pin connecter [A Orange Input #1 (-) Optional - Connect to a ground triggered A/C relay] I spliced that in to the light green and white stripe from the AC relay, what i believe to be the EMC ground trigger for the relay. green/white gets ground, AC relay grounds, comp gets power, etc.
Well, my comp is not kicking in, no cold air, etc. But, the Sniper is understanding "Hey the AC is ON" Because when i turn on the AC in the car, the idle bumps up, and fan kicks on perfectly. Just no AC comp at all. Has anyone else done a sniper swap on a third gen and tapped into the Relay and got it to work? Would really love some advice, I live in south Arizona, and working AC is the difference between driving the car or pushing it under a tree.
[background info] Its a 1992 original v6 camaro i swaped in a 350 carbed engine. The AC worked fine till one day i believe my ECM went out, none of my relays got grounds from the ECM, not fans, ac, radio sleep mode, etc. I had to put toggle switches to the relay grounds to get them to work by connecting them to a chasse ground with a switch in the middle. My problem then was the AC comp would not cycle off when before it worked fine. It would run and run and run till it over headed and locked up. Dont know whats going on there, thats why i was hoping the Sniper controls the cycling although after looking for 5 days online i cant find any help with this issue specifically or can tell me if the Sniper cycles the compressor by grounding and un grounding the relay. If anyone can share some info i would really be thank full.

Re: Holley Sniper A/C ground not triggering Compressor
Alright, after being on Holleys phone help line for 2 and a half hours i have answers, and im going to leave this thread up to help others. when the holley sniper installation paper, says A Orange Input #1 (-) Optional - Connect to a ground triggered A/C relay they DO NOT MEEN your ac relay. they meen you put in ANOTHER ONE after market so the holley will bump up idle. which it does already making it pointless. what a pain in the butt dude, if only they could take 10 seconds of their day to be more CLEAR on the paperwork, online pdfs and etc that it is for an additional aftermarket AC KICK relay. All the videos i watched on holleys page about sniper installation says it goes to a ground triggered ac relay. Talk about not adding need to know info. rip.
but it brings me back to my original problem. my AC relay, fuel pump relay and fan relay are NOT getting their ground from the powertrain control module as they should be by looking at the diagrams. the sniper has its own fuel relay, yippy. and it DOES cycle the fans for you via ground trigger of your STOCK fan relay, gee if only it could for my AC relay. TLDR none of my relays are getting grounds by the ECM as they should, is my ECM toast?
