Temp sender wire problem
I have a 1991 Z28 with the 5.7 TPI motor. The AC compressor is on the passenger side, the alternator on the driver side. When it was down for repairs(when AREN’T they?!), I had a rodent build a nest on the passenger side mount. It eat my fan switch wire on that side, which I repaired.
Yesterday, my temp gauge wasn’t working, so I dove under the hood again. I found the sender in the drivers side head, but NO WIRE! The little bugger may be back!
Anyway, there is absolutely no wire in the vicinity that I can see. Really weird. I know it is supposed to be a green wire and goes to the gauge cluster, but can anyone help me with locating it in the engine bay? Is it out of the main harness, another harness- or just straight out of the firewall?
Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Temp sender wire problem
I'm not sure where the temp gauge wire originates in the harness. It should be coming from the C100 bulk head connector. So follow that bundle to the engine.
Also, grab a box of moth ***** and sprinkle/place some under the hood (on top of intake), inside of the interior, and in the hatch area. May not the best smelling, but the mice/chipmunks like it less. This is an issue with cars that aren't driven every day...

What is the 8th digit of the VIN?
I will see if I have a Schematic for you.

Re: Temp sender wire problem
You are looking for a 20 AWG Dark-Green Wire.
The wire comes into the Engine-Bay through the C100 Electrical Connector Bulk-Head at Terminal location F5.
The wire should remain in the Trunk of the Wiring-Harness, across the Fire-Wall towards the Passenger-Side Cylinder-Head.
If the Wire is burnt-up/ missing/ or damaged...
Start at the C100 Bulk-Head and follow the Wire as far as it goes, and make a repair with new wire to the Sending-Unit.
