Re: ecu
I found this thread searching an issue I'm currently having. 89 TTA. Ran it a couple weeks ago, didn't drive it anywhere, just pulled out and idled for 20 mins.
A week later it wouldn't start. (I have a scan master, and it was showing codes 42 and 41). I was able to clear the codes twice by disconnecting the memory cable on the ECU near the battery. The car would start after clearing the codes, but came back within the suggested 2 minute timeframe to run the car after clearing codes and checking to see if they come back.
Now, when I disconnect the memory cable to the battery, the codes don't go away anymore. It's like they're "stuck" in the ecu memory. Does this sound like a bad ECU?
(edit) - I've replaced the ignition control module and the coil, as suggested by my friend since the module was original and showed signs of being "cooked" - with the potting material thinned out and overheated a few times from the looks of it

Re: ecu
UPDATE: It was indeed the ECU. My buddy brought over a spare and we swapped it in, all good now. I thought I heard the injectors going like crazy with the codes present and the key in the 'on' position. Indeed they were, my crankcase was full of gas! So obviously did an oil change as well.
