1985 Firebird Headlight wiring help

Hey guys, so we just bought a 85 firebird.

The headlights wère stuck in the up position. Lights work, and they lower/raise with the manual crank.

I took them to my bench and powered them up....they work!. They fold up and down like they are supposed to.

So I found these 2 toasty looking relays....one next to battery and one behind battery/pass side headlight.

These connectors might be my problem...they look a bit melty.

I cleaned both all connectors and relays, but still nothing.

Anyone have any insight to what I'm looking at/for?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!!!

Welcome to TGO!
Have you checked the grounds? So you've got three relays, two acuator relays and one isolation relay, each will have it's own ground wire, Check those for continuity to ground. These circuits are powered by fusible links that should be terminated at the starter.

thanks for the reply, and warm welcome!

Yes, all 3 grounds were cleaned...opened up all connectors and cleaned them as well.

The fusible links go to the relays on the fender...one for each side. I verified power there, so im pretty sure my fusible links are good.

I found a schematic on a fiero board that allows me to "jump out" the ISO relay...haven't been able to try it yet.

Jump out? This means bypassing the isolation relay I’m assuming? Power in and power out of the relays good?
