83 305 engine bay fire

I had a small engine bay fire towards the back of the engine bay by me firewall I’ve been trying so diagnose what started it and all I’ve been able to find is a broken ground strap around the area of the fire could that have grounded to something and started it by chance, and advice is appreciated

Probably not that.

More likely, the fusible links had been "bypassed" at some point in the car's life, and one of the Big Red Wires shorted to ground. Butt it's too dark under your hood right now for me to be able to see it well enough to be sure.
