Help with ignition module question

Hi all. I just wanted to ask, do I have to take the distributor cap off to be able to tell if I have a 4 pin ignition module or a 7 pin on my 86 IROC? If its a dumb question I apologize ahead of time LOL!!

If it's computer-controlled it has 7 pins.
