92 firebird humming alternator
hi guys
so I've just purchased a 92 firebird so it originally was a 350 tpi car but the injection has been removed and replaced with a carb setup but the alternator is constantly humming and if left drains the battery i tried a new alternator i had and that does the same is there a way to rectify this ? if i unplug the black plug the humming stops

Bad alt or wired incorrectly.

alt. turn on wire is powered with ignition off-hook to switched ignition source and situation should be fixed.

hi there sorry im not great with electrics so i find the wire that's permanently live at the moment that goes to the alternator cut that and join it to a live that comes on with the ignition ?
