Heater controls problem

I'm not sure if this would be the right forum to post this to, but here it goes.

My heater controls will not open any vents. It seems to be permanently stuck on defrost no matter what setting I have it on. Air only comes out of the top dash and the radio pod, not out of the front of the dash at all. I have replaced the controls with a new set, but that didn't solve my problem.

Any ideas welcome.

check your vacuum source to the controls, if there is no vacuum then the default is defrost. there is a canister mounted on the fire wall next to the master cylinder booster which has a vacuum line comming from the intake manifold, make sure that is hooked up. also the canister itself can crack and cause bad vacuum leaks for your motor.
