Hp gains w/ upgrades

Can power be increased by
electical upgrades??
eg..
alternator, distributor, ignition, wires, fan??
I would think so because of the enhanced
spark.
But i dunno, you guys tell me.

The only reason that would increse HP would be if you had a low voltage problem to begin with and were having problems. You will not get a few HP if you install a HO alternator if thats what you are asking. The spark plug wires and distributor are general maintenace items, not significant power adders.

You will also get a few ponies from switching to an electric fan because you will be drawing less power from the engine. As mentioned earlier most of that other stuff is more maintenance and if everything is working correctly you shouldn't notice much difference

wires and fan, yes. Rest of that bunk, no. If your plugs and wires are old, you should change them for many, many reasons. Changing your distrib for no reason is a joyous 150 dollar excercise. The fan for the reasons previously mentioned. Only thing I don't like about an electric fan is they die, and their sensors can screw up. I was PISSED when my zz4 was three months old and overheated because the sensor took a dump on me.
