Do a search for VATS.. it comes up every once in awhile. If you're needing to disable VATS, I believe you'll have to email the people that know about it. For obvious reasons, the fix isn't really put on public display.

The security light did not come on. The key gets to the start position and then is stuck

Stuck as in like, turns to the 'run' positin but, won't turn to enough to be able crank the car ?

It could be a problem with the ignition switch itself being broke if so (they are seperate from each other & there is a rod that connects them). I had that problem when I pulled my shifter out of gear one night (it took no effort to do) There is a cable that attaches from the shfter to the ignition switch that locks out the shifter when the car is off. I solved mine by hacking the cable off & replacing the switch (since I broke it fully using vise-grips to start the car).

Of course, your sitiation could be something completely different and what I said has no meaning to your problem ( which wouldn't be a first )
