Ok first off this is not a complete motor, it was but the oil pump went bad I am guessing and wiped out bearings and all other sorts of things. The block is a 2 bolt main 400 bored .030 over, put new pistons in during build and they now have 2,8XX miles on them, stock rods that should be checked, stock heads that were rebuilt and I believe I had the valves cut ( heads need to be hot tanked, block was already done ). I also got another 400 crank and had it cut .010/.010. The block has new freeze plugs in it and I believe possibly cam bearings, the block is still at the performance shop. You would need a distributor, intake, oil pump and pan, cam, rockers, push rods and rod and main bearings if you don't want stock parts. You would also need gaskets and seals and I think that is just about it. I have over $300 tied up in just the machining of the block and that doesn't include the head work and crank cutting or what I paid for the motor originally. I am looking to get $600 for it but am possibly willing to take other offers. I would prefer NOT to ship this stuff and I am in Pa around the Allentown area. You can PM me on here if interested or email me at stangtamer89@yahoo.com. When I had the motor in my 88 IROC my buddy estimated it to be around 300 horse and it made good torque, it had no problems breaking the tires loose giving it 1/4 throttle from a dead stop after it was broken in. The oil was also changed after cam break in, at 500 miles and it didn't make the 3,000 mile change.

Thanks nelapse LOL.

Jtufts - I would really rather not ship it. If you want it come and get it, I have no need for it because of the 91 Z I bought with the LS1 in it. It would probably be cheaper and easier for you if you picked it up. Everything would have to be packaged seperatley for shipping and I can see stuff getting lost. If you are interested though let me know.

I don't have any pics of the motor and it isn't assembled. If you are close and interested you would probably be better off coming to look at it in person. The motor itself is near Quakertown so if you want to see it I am willing to drive from my house to where the stuff is. Right now I can't get the block because the rear hatch on my Jeep doesn't open. If you want to come and look at it let me know.

I picked the block up today. I was told the cam bearings were already pressed into it but they aren't. I took a few pics of it that I will post later tonight. There is some spider webs that would have to be cleaned out of it as well before assembly, it sat at the performance shop for about a year or two.

Here are the pics of the block. The casting number isn't real clear but I took a pic of it anyway.

I don't even know of any shipping companies close to me to deal with the weight or how much all of it weighs. If I can find a company to ship it I will ship it if someone wants it and is willing to pay the shipping.

Re: 406 SBC up for grabs
It means to the top, to bump the thread up so it stays on the first page. I already have someone who said they want it, I am working on getting them a shipping quote now so he has it first pending on the shipping. If it falls through and you want it I can ship it.
