406 rotating assembly

I have a good used 406 rotating assembly for sale. It consists of a stock 400 crank that was recently turned so the mains are cut 10 thousands. The rods are all marked and shotpeaned. The pistons are just regular flat top 30 over for a 400. The assembly was balanced and run in the motor for about 6000 miles. I'm replacing it with a full forged one because I want higher RPMs and to run a nitrous kit. I'm asking 350 for everything. I have pictures but the files are too large to upload. So just post or PM me an e-mail address.

The assembly was balanced with a flexplate and damper. I already sold the flexplate and still have the damper, but I think it's the original unit so it's 30+ years old.

Re: 406 rotating assembly

406 are external balanced. The flywheel or flexplate and the front damper are part of the balance. If you change any of them it is no longer a balanced assy. just a note for clarification.

Re: 406 rotating assembly

Although the weight on the flywheel is part of the balance,Most people that balance engines leave the external balance on the flywheel the same as stock,, and add or remove weight from the crank, this way if you damage either the balancer or flywheel, you can readily replace them rather than have to rebalance a motor due to a chipped flywheel tooth!

I've asked you 3 times to meet up with me and take your rims and spacers back and give me my axle and console in return. This even after you make the mistake of thinking that I'm a fool and you could scare me by threatening to call a lawyer. Then again I noticed you already put the rear up for sale in a thread that said you were getting rid of everything to join the armed services. Which contradicts everything you told me. So let me make it very clear, I have no intention of sending you any form of payment. So for the 4th time I will ask you if you would like to meet up and swap parts back if you really think you didn't get a fair deal. You have my phone number, email and can PM me and chose not to for the past week after I made it clear I will not give you any money as part of this deal. Now grow up and conduct business according to the rules of this forum. I very well could have put a bunch of junk posts like this on your threads, but chose not to. If you keep posting junk like this I'm going to contact the moderators to correct this.

You are correct on a stock rotating assembly the motor is externally balanced. It was an oversight on my part to put that in the initial post.
