The Hypertech Power Coil is 40% more powerful than stock, supplying 53,000 volts of energy, which is 15,000 volts more than stock. The Power Coil is capable of firing a street engine right up to the "red Line" without skipping a beat.

For years, racers have been increasing their spark plug gaps in order to increase performance. However, a higher voltage is required to force the electrons to jump the larger gap between the plugs.

The larger, more powerful spark produced by a Power Coil and a larger spark plug gap will usually show an increase of about 5 horsepower on the dyno, and will also fire the air/fuel mixture more efficiently at part throttle cruising speeds.
