I have a 86 trans am i built a Vortec 355 and stalled 700R4 and drove for a bit, it is excellent working condition, the engine and trans MIGHT have 3000 miles on them, the engine spec:
2 bolt 1 piece rear main seal block, .030 over, all balanced rotating assembly, stock rods reconditioned and ARP bolts installed, stock crank turned .020 over on the mains and rods, pistons are 4 VR forged speed pro, chromoly rings, heads are machined for extra lift with single springs that are good for .540 lift, the rockers are crower 1.5/1.6 fill roller, the 1.6 are on the exhaust, ATI street damper, comp hardened pushrods the cam is a elgin roller cam, hydraulic, 230/230 @.050, .480 lift on a 108 LSA, lopes very well. The exhaust has a bit more lift due to the 1.6 RRs on that side, the intake is a performer, stock pan, chrome chevy valve covers, STD volume oil pump, engine pulls easily to 6500 RPM,MSD HEI distributor, has room to grow, the small intake and shorty headers on my car now are holing the engine back a bit, but it is turn key ready, fires right up and runs as strong as you could expect a roller vortec engine to run. Can hear it and drive it.
The trans is actually newer, the little vortec motor went thru 2 used 700R4s in about 2000 miles so i had one built, it is all new bands, clutches, corvette servo, shift kit, drilled for the stall, the stall is a 2800, foot brakes to 2000 with the little tires i have on the back, so when you nail it it flashed higher of course, shifts are SOLID, i have never had a auto trans as nice as this one. Has about 800 miles on it.
Get your own carb unless you want to buy the one that is on it, will take 100$ for the carb if you want it, otherwise, i will have to buy and build myself another, usually cost me 200$ or more, but i will let the one that is on it go for a bill, it is rebuilt with the engine so everything in it is new as well.
Pics upon request, if you are serious, bring cash as there will be no joy rides.
Engines like this go for 3500 on up with less parts, so the price is firm, not looking to separate the motor from the trans.
2500$

If you do decide to separate the motor and trans at some point, let me know. Mine just burnt up third and fourth gears. Really need a replacement asap.
