Re: Long tube headers to vortec heads

i can only comment on the oem vortec heads with Hedman Hedders, but the spark plug clearance with them is better in every way than other oem heads..

I ran vortec heads with Hooker super comp headers and they fit just fine

I've run Hedman's with the OEM Vortec as well as the RHS Vortec which is the EQ casting. No trouble with the plugs. It is necessary to use an offset box end wrench on a couple but other than that, it's all good. Plenty of room with 90 degree plug boots as well.

Re: Long tube headers to vortec heads

Can't say about fitment with factory vortec heads, ( I switched to AFR 190 "vortec" heads) but I also changed to Hawks Stainlesss works headers and they fit much better than my hookers ever did. Only problem is they're tucked up so well I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around how to get exhaust on the damned thing.

Re: Long tube headers to vortec heads

Do you have angled or straight spark plugs at those AFR heads?
How is it with frame/headers clearance(do they hit anywhere, need cut/hammering)?

Edit. 15.12-15
I got maximizer long tubes(1.75" primaries) and test fit them, plug clearance is good(with ngk tr55's and accel 300+ wires 90 deg. boots)
