feeling out the market
feeling out the market
here's the deal. I've purchased some performance parts to rebuild my 87 camaro, but things may be changing in my near future and I might find myself living in an apartment in Chicago (currently located in Richmond, Va) so I'm trying to see what my best options are:
A) try to rebuild the whole car before I move and take it with me as a weekend toy
B) sell the car essentially as a rolling chassis with damaged engine/trans and also sell off all the parts i bought
what could be up for sale:
HSR system (minus knock sensor) with 42 pound injectors. This is put together with a painless wiring harness, a 730 GM ecu and an autoprom system to record live data and burn your own chips. System also comes with a BBK 58mm Throttle Body. throttle body and both intake pieces are painted orange/black. looks good!
I'd be asking 1000 for it, or if you need it shipped somewhere I'd split the shipping cost with you (so probably 1050 your cost total)
exhaust system consisting of some good condition painted hooker headers with 3 inch collectors, 3 inch y-pipe and 3 inch intermediate pipe and flowmaster muffler. this system was custom fit to another Z28 and the car was wrecked in the rear so it does not come with tailpipes and the whole system was welded in, so it was cut (cleanly) to be removed from the car. I'd let all this go for 300 plus shipping
complete 350 TPI setup (MAF style) with fuel tank sending unit and sending unit connector for easy installation. this i'd sell for 350 local pickup or 300 and I split shipping cost with you (350 total your cost anyway)
Transmission that was rebuilt with a TCI pro race transmission kit. I rode in the car this came out of just 1 week before it was parted out, and it feels strong! comes with a B&M 2500 non-lockup converter, a standard replacement 2000 lockup converter and the TCI governor spring kit to allow you to install the correct springs for your rear gear. I'd sell all this for 600, local pick up only!!!
brand new set of Richmond 3.73 gears made for the small carrier 10 bolt 7.5 inch rear with a new Richmond brand install kit. This i'd do for 200 or 175 plus shipping if you are not local.
Car is also up for grabs if things hit the market. it's an 87 glass t-top Z28 with an IROC hood, 15 inch wheels, been lowered an inch with new 255 tires (white letter) and let me tell you, she steers like a beast, extremely straight body but it does have the god awful clear coat issue, so paint wouldnt hurt. It comes with a 3 gauge A-pillar cluster with Autometer voltage, temp and oil pressure gauges plus a large competition series Autometer tachometer under the dash with adjustable shift light. Car currently has a 95 model 350 engine in it with a nice lopey cam (I believe it's around 470 or 480 lift), edelbrock intake, holley 750 dual feed vac secondary carb, full MSD ignition with 6AL control box and pro-billet distributor, ceramic coated edelbrock headers (egr optioned) and a 700R4 that's basically junk, but could be rebuilt. I'll also toss in another rebuild friendly 700R4 just in case there are any damaged parts. The reason I consider this thing a rolling chassis is because the trans is in bad shape (we rebuilt it but the end result was not as expected) and while I was flat footing this thing around town I collapsed a lifter and also pulled a rocker stud on cylinder 2. sucks for me. I'd let the car go for 2000. I understand you can buy a drivable car for this, but not with these quality parts on it!
let me know what you guys think of these parts. if I get enough interest I'll sell it all and take my losses. If no, I'll work like hell to build this thing ASAP and keep my passion for the f-body alive!
