Recently bought a 1986 Camaro with the 2.8. I don't plan on using the v6 (v8 swap in the works) or auto trans behind it. Along with some of the v6 specific parts. I'm asking $250 for the motor on my local craigslist, but I'd let it go to a TGO member cheaper than that. I don't know much about the motor. Has 155,xxx miles on it. Was told it was only parked because the trans was slipping in 3rd and 4th, I have know him for many years and have no reason to doubt him.

I have gotten it to fire off on starting fluid. I has 40psi of oil pressure at idle, and goes up with the rpm's. Only bad thing I can find about it is the throttle blade is stuck closed. It will be in the car for a few weeks while I get the small block together and wait for the weather to warm up. So it's possible to hear it before being pulled. Looking for $150 for the motor, no accessories. $250 for the whole deal (motor, trans, accessories). Like to wait on parting it out just yet. If no one bites...then I'll sell parts.

Does it have an accurate tach?

The tach works. I haven't driven the car to know how accurate it is. I'm planning a v8 swap and 4th gen dash so it's of no use to me. Make an offer if you are interested.
