Shipping Help
I am parting out a Camaro. never shipped car parts before. never shipped anything really. the prices seem to be a bit steep for shipping thereby looking like I am pricing parts through the roof. can someone direct me as to how to ship them cheaper. who to ship through, how to box it? if there is a sticky somewhere that I haven't found please direct me towards it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Shipping Help
USPS flat rate boxes seem to work pretty well for my needs, but with that being said if its big it is gonna cost alot to ship no matter what.

Re: Shipping Help
thanks. I did look into them. I just always thought they were slow but it seems they are faster than I thought. I will look into them.

Re: Shipping Help
I live in Puerto Rico so I ship just about everything. My procedure is:
Check if USPS fixed rate will work. They're Priority so they only take 3-4 days. There's a caveat because, for parts that aren't too heavy, regular (not fixed rate) Priority Mail boxes are less expensive. But that's for US to PR because UPS and FedEx can be as much as twice as much as USPS. For the lower 48, UPS and FedEx can have competitive rates to USPS, especially if you ship a lot and get an account... unless the part is big. They charge for volume so bigger parts I wind up using USPS parcel post which is MUCH cheaper.

Re: Shipping Help
Yeah i normally ship USPS. For really big items I think you can ship greyhound at a cheaper price. The person you are selling to pays the shipping. You'll get the nuances of about how much a smaller item will cost (you can to the USPS website and get an estimated price also). Use the flat rate boxes when you can, but a lot of times shipping parcel in the same box is cheaper (depends on how fast your purchaser wants the item). But yeah losing a dollar or two on shipping is fine sometimes but dont make a habit of it.
