9 Bolt Rear End Carrier (3 Series)

Hi,

I bought a complete rear end from an '86 Trans Am, it's 9 bolt, posi, 2.77 ratio. I'm looking to change the gear to 3.45 or 3.70 and in order to do that I'll need the carrier that comes with 3.23 or numerically-higher gears (commonly reffered as the 3-series carrier).

If anyone has the 3-series carrier and interested in selling it (with or without gear), please post a reply or send me an e-mail to: tanayast@msu.edu.

Thanks!!!

Stefanus

i just replaced my 9 bolt and im trying to get her evicted!
its a 3.23 rear end, the ring and pinion are toast but the posi works.
i havent taken it apart yet and i'd rather keep it that way.
$75 obo, willing to negotiate... want it gone

I had one of those 9-bolt rear ends and was told that a 3-series carrier will not fit in that housing. There is a 3.73 gear for your carrier but is kind of pricey. Check it out.

Well, I meant the 3-series carrier for the 9-bolt unit, not the 10-bolt 3-series.
