Engine: 350 H.O.
Transmission: T56
T5 Rebuild Assistance, Houston, TX
What I'm Looking For:
Someone with a garage, the tools, and the know-how to help me in fixing what is wrong with the transmission. Worn synchro's and maybe bearings are what seems to be critically wrong with the transmission. I would prefer it if you live near Houston to make it easier to drop my car off in case it takes a few days to fix the car. If you live further from Houston and are willing to help me then I'm sure we can work something out.
Background:
I just drove 1,100 miles from IL to Houston, TX in my 1984 Camaro and she made it
The synchro's in the transmission were slowly going before I left but I didn't think it was a big deal. During the last stretch of my drive in Texas I noticed it became more and more difficult to shift into 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd gear. Two days later the car is not *as* difficult to shift but, it still shows signs of worn synchro's. After taking it to a transmission shop today the mechanic recommended a clutch as well as whatever work the transmission would need. I believe the clutch is salvagable in it's current state because it has never caused me problems and does not slip.
Anyone willing to help can send me a PM on this site, email me @ at_rick@yahoo.com, or call me at 708-574-1702.
Thanks for reading.
