Wanted- 9 bolt 3.27 disc rear for my 87 GTA
Im in need of a rear i guess, It whines under throttle. Machine shop said they would only do a rebuild with new gears so new 3.27's are a no find and i think 3.73's might be a little to much for my daily driver. Plus im trying to restore the old girl for now and cash is a little tight. Also ordered a new y pipe and cat back from MAC.. been waiting over 3 months but it seems all i can find. Any tips would be great.

The guy at the shop said he'd only do the rebuild with new gears. Why cant i get by with a used set of gears from 9bolt.com...and how did yours turn out. thanks

Btw, They don't make gears for the Aussie 9bolt, just 2.77's and 3.27's, You would have to get a regular 10 bolt from another camaro to have the luxury of going higher in gear ratio's.

I have a 9 bolt from an '89 Camaro with 92,000 miles on it. It has the big PBR brakes (the same as 1LE), and a 3.45 posi. In my opinion, that's the perfect ratio for a street car.
The housing is rusty, and the brakes will have to be rebuilt, but the car it came out from under belonged to a friend of mine, and I know it was in good shape, with the posi working and no whining/clunking.
I'll take 200 for it. It's in Tulsa, OK.
