WTB: Set of 8 C4 Hub Mounting Bolts/Nuts
WTB: Set of 8 C4 Hub Mounting Bolts/Nuts
A fellow 3rd genner suggested I check here because of the number of brake conversions discussed and done here.
Anyway, I installed C4 Vette hubs on my 4th gen. The difference between the 4th gen f-body front hubs and the C4 front hub are only in the mounting method.
The 4th gen hub pieces have threads and you put the 4 mounting bolts through the rear of the spindle and then thread directly into the hub mounting holes.
The C4 hub pieces do not have threads and require nuts to hold the hub to the spindle.
Based on what I have seen, the C4 bolts have to be longer than the 4th gen f-body bolts. I have already installed the hubs and got some nuts from the "Help" section of the local auto parts store.
Given that this car sees track duty and there is not full thread engagement with the nuts, I am not 100% satisfied with this configuration.
I am looking for a set of used C4 Hub mounting bolts/nuts to make this a stronger setup. (315's are in my future!).
