Pulled the rear end down for a whine from the carrier bearing and noticed the spider gears are pitted and need replacing.

My sons in the Air Force and stationed in Texas and I'm here in North Carolina trying to get the car ready to take to him. He doesn't have a lot of money as military pay is low so I'm trying to find a set of gears instead of him having to replace the whole carrier. But, I'll take the whole carrier unit if need be to get it rolling so he'll have some transportation while he's in Texas for the next 12-14 months.

It's a 3 series, 26 spline posi/limited slip.They have to be from a posi/limited slip carrier as these gears are smaller than an open carrier.

Are the spider gears different in a 2 series compared to a 3 series ??

I've got some of these things stashed away - but can't recall if I marked them as from a 2 or 3 series carrier when they were put in storage......
