i have the auto 305 tpi camaro and want the better cam

 

You might want to verify you have the "small" cam first before you spend the money on a better cam. Not to mention going to all the work to change the cam and only putting in another stock one.

Perhaps an LT1 cam or similar would be better than a stock TPI cam?

 

I have a cam from an '87 L98 engine (350 TPI).

Are you interested in it?

 

i just pulled one out of a 91 tpi 305 manual. pm me an offer if that'd work.

get an LT1 cam, or at least an L98 cam, just look at the specs, the LT1 cam is 447/459 lift L98 is 410/420 lift, both with around the same duration, if you find an LT1 cam from a 93 fbody you wont even have to grind the dowel down to fit and it should work ok with the stock MAFS computer just get springs to match, a S10 torque converter and of course headers and a good exhaust and you should have a decent 305, check out some of my threads cause ive found out all this info on these message boards, if you cant find the lt1 cam tho at least get the L98 dont bother with the 305 cam unless its from a 91-92 5sp cause they def had the L98 cam

 

thanks i found lt1 cam on ebay for $25 and lt1 springs for $79 jus waiting now....hope everything works...........im already running 24lb injectors adjustable regulator gutted maf ported heads and intake 1.6 rockers 20-22 stall built 700 410 gears and mini spool so i hope the cam goes good with all this
