I need a VSS for a T5.

The trans is out of a 89 Formula.
I need the VSS that will work with my speedo
I also need the speedo gear. I have a 3.23 rear out of a 92 GTA

Re: VSS for T5WC 91Z28

Cable drive ?
You can use a Dakota digital sgi-5e
With a 4K ppm vss
http://tpiparts.net/inc/sdetail/7587
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/dak-sgi-5e

Vss already on the trans it would be a 2k ppm
You can use a vss buffer or a ship-5e for correction.
If you just use a vss buffer it's 2k in and the 4K out goes to
The ecm assuming your tpi other wise it's 2k for tbi.

Also assuming your edit going from automatic to manual.
You should have your ecms chip reprogrammed accordingly. Iac logic is slightly different as well as manual transmissions use less timing and have a lower idle speed.

Re: VSS for T5WC 91Z28

Yes it is a LB9.

I need to get everything together and working then I will get a MEMCAL burned for it.

I need the 4K PPM VSS. I have searched high and low and can't find one.

It was an auto and now is a 5 speed. It runs and drives ATM but I would like to get the speedometer working and a few other things done before I get it re tuned

I bought the car this way from another member on here. I was fully aware of the project I was taking on. I will need lots of parts in the future. I just want to be able to enjoy this car.

Re: VSS for T5WC 91Z28

I think your looking fo gm pn 10456087 which has been discontinued.
Or Sc40 standard motor products.
Looks like your limited to the listed alternative methods.

Re: VSS for T5WC 91Z28

I am having the same problem finding the VSS sensor. I searched all the parts stores and they have been discontinued and no more repops being produced.
I have a 92 RS LB9 with T5.
This car is for my 16 yr old son and I sure would like to get the speedometer working.
Please PM info on a work around or if anyone finds the part being made.

Does the speedo not working affect anything else?

Thanks for any info or help.
Wes
