I have a hypertech chip that the previous owner installed. I wouldn't suggest BUYING one if you had a stock chip, since they're so similar and don't do much, but if you don't have the factory one to begin with there's no harm. Would you be interested?

I have a hypertech chip now and there are cold start issues. (89 has no cold start injector) If they are very close to the stock tune then I will need to make a new one . I was hoping for an easy fix. I have a L31 truck cam which is very close to the stock L98 but tighter lobe centers. This is probably where my trouble is. Thanks for the offers.

If you have a Hypertech for 9th injector TPI, in a car without a 9th injector, then yeah....it's not the right chip. My Hypertech is for an 89. No 9th injector.

No. I have the correct 89 chip for my set up. It still has issues when cold. Once In closed loop its fine. No vacuum leaks, all new EGR. ect. ect...

Some stock tunes in 89 had weird cold start fueling, i.e. none for a few engine revolutions.
I had my stock chip tuned to address it on my 89. Cold starts are instant now. Tuned Performance on this forum took care of it.
