L98 Engine
Hi guys, I'm looking to replace the tpi 305 in my '88 Trans-Am with an L98. I'm just putting together a daily driver, so something around 300 h.p. would be more than enough. I've thought about the vortec engine but I think I'd rather stick with a warmed over L98. Prefer fresh rebuild but low miles wouldn't be a deal killer. A low mileage stock engine is also a possibility. I'm located in the Hudson Valley of New York (about 50 miles north of NYC). Thanks, RonM.

Re: L98 Engine
Have a replica Firehawk 355. Dynoed at 325 on a dynojet 290 no a mustang dyno.
Just the longblock with canton roadrace pan. Won 6 National Champions with this motor.

Hi, your engine sounds a bit too modded for what I'm looking for. Plus I see you are in Texas so the shipping would be a killer. I appreciate it though, RonM.

Re: L98 Engine
I'm doing an ls swap and selling my 5.7 L98 tpi. It has over 300 hp with Mild Comp Cam, valve springs, Mid length Headers, Stage III Proformence Chip, BBK power plus Throttle Body, MSD Street Fighter Coil, MSD 6AL Ignition Control System, Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator, Chevrolet Racing Valve Covers, Chrome Valve Cover Wing Bolts, charcoal canister has a brand new alternator + distributor and plugs. The engine was rebuilt 40k ago, runs great is still in my 89 irocz
