easy swap??
easy swap??
would it be easy to swap a carbed 350 with an th-350 thats already in a 3rd gen camaro (hit from behind) in to a stock 92 RS 305 5 speed?...
Will the bellhousing and starter work?? I want to keep the 5 speed...
Headers off the 89 would work in the 92 right?...
What needs to be add/removed to make the swap easier (electronic wise)...
Any one done this swap before?...Any suggestions?
Heres a pic of the carbed 350....

"Easy" is really defined by the person doing the work.
Of all the things out there, though, this one should be one of the less complicated. A couple of things to watch are rear main seal type on the 350 (may be two-piece, in which case your flywheel won't fit), be sure to put a pilot bearing/bushing in the crank. Other than that, just switch things out/over.

hey fivekid,
i am not tryin to say u r wrong or anything but i have a 72 monte carlo 350 in my maro and the flywheel from the 305 fits the two piece rear main seal. never had a problem with it so is it u are saying it wont work? mine does. plus i thought 86 up 305s had the one piece. so the 89 or 92 will both have the one piece if it is the original engine and he shouldnt have a problem. i dont she a prob with the flywheel at all. please correct me if i am wrong but mine works fine with the 305 flywheel
