LT1 swap result
I ran the car on the track for the first time last weekend. I was quite impressed.
Here's the data
13.890 at 95.40 mph
60 feet 2.072.
time reaction wasn't too good , 1,089.
I was only able to do 2 runs so I can't tell you exactly what the car can really runs at but I would say 13.7 or maybe 13.6...
This LT1 as 110 000 miles and it's bone stock exept for those headers that I traded for a BBQ that I found in the garbage !
Oh also ,only 2.73 gears!

Good job matt, cant wait to see what happens when you get some deeper gears and a few other toys for it, makes me wonder what mine is gonna run, should have it on the road soon, just finishing the interior wiring and getting it ready for paint, heres the specs on mine:
93' Longblock with 94' intake and pcm.
SLP 1 3/4's
3" cat
3" pipe to single in/out aerochamber
T56
Dual Friction clutch
3.23's
HUGE K&N
Alston SFC's
1LE bellows.
AC Delete.

Thanks you guys. As my 2nd car and first swap I think it's alright !
Would someone knows what I would be able to make (ET) with 3.23 gears and mac exaust and catback ?
Also if I do Plenum porting, what can I gain ?
Thanks

Looking good.
3.73 are the gears to get since you have an auto.
I can't wait for my swap to be finished.

Intake and plenum porting get you next to nothing of a gain on an LT1. Go for a camshaft or an electric waterpump for a decent gain. 3.73's will do you nicely as well.

It's looking awesome. How much of the original LT1 equipment was retained in the swap? Do you still have cats? It just looks so clean and uncluttered

Well it's even cleanner now. Here's what I kept and bought for the LT1
Kept:
Motor and serpentine components
Tranny
Power steering reservoir
Ecm and all Wiring.
Bought:
New Radiator for corvette
Fuel pump
Power steering line that I made using the 3rd gen ones .
Fuel Line made from old lines as well.
Water pump was shot, had to replace it
Head gasket were shot also had to work that out.
Fuel Pressure sensor, it was ripped from the motor.
Spark Plug wire and spark plugs
Headmans Hearders had to be used, couldn't keep the stock manifolds, didn't have any money to waste on y-pipe welding.
The LT1 mini-starter had a dead spot, I used the one from my 305 without getting any problems.
Made my own motor mounts using my stock 305 ones.
MAP sensor was also shot, used the one from my 305.
didn't got the cooling fans, used the standard one from my 305
and hmm.... I gutted my cat last night ! since I had to do welding to my y-pipe I decided to do a little cleaning in there !
The air intake came from my first car ! V6 beater that died of oil shortage ! The new setup has a TPI boot that goes up to the airbox, much nicer then what's on the picture.
My opinion about all that is if you have piles of junk lying around just like in my dad's garage, well you can praticly do anything and save bigtime on everything. Yes, you have to find solutions to problems but hey !, who doesnt.
This swap has been very cheap for me I spent maybe 1900$ US including everything and that's even with the 4th gen seats !

I absolutely love my LT1, best damn thing Ive done to the car. with the mods in my sig, Im good for low 13's, still need to take it to the track to verify that. Ive got some good pics if I can find them, the ones on my site are old and Ive changed some things since then.
