Can't fit air filter!

The '85 TA I just got has a carbed 350 in it and there is no room for the air filter. Should I mod/swap the hood or is there another alternative?

Thanx

What kind of intake man is on it? How big is the filter you're trying to use? Is there a spacer under the carb?

If you're thinking about modifying the hood I suggest using a cowl scoop just big enough to clear the air cleaner. Otherwise you're going to have a hard time seeing the right side of the car. Trust me I know. It's a pretty big project. You'd better be good with fiberglass and sand paper.

if its an open element air filter try and get a smaller filter and just cut the carb stud down to size so it fits nicely. but if ur running a small filter now then save up like 300 bucks or how ever much it is for a 2 1/2 in cowl hood from harrwood.
