383 Build Parts

Ok, I'm starting to price things for my 383. I've got a lot of it done, but I have no idea what cam to use! If it helps, I will be using it as a daily driver but will still see strip/track use. I want as much power as I can get without going overkill, for a street motor I mean.

I would call several cam companies tech lines to see what they recommend for your particular combination before making a decision on what cam to get. The weight, gearing, heads, compression ratio, and intended usage are all factors to consider when choosing a cam. If you can afford it I would definately consider getting a hydraulic roller. The GM "hot" cam is a good choice for a street/strip car, the specs for my cam are very similar to it. But once again it depends on your combination of parts so choose something that matches your particular car.
