i figure since i got the Z28 torn apart so much, an engine swap is nothing major right now

where can i get a cheap but good shortblock?

i already have the tranny out/ ex. manifolds off...............all i really need to do is undo the motor mounts and pull the engine

so, instead of having to go through all the trouble again, figure i'll do it now and save some hassles

doesnt have to be top-notch, all-out-racing

something i can bolt some high quality heads and a nice cam onto and run a 12 second run the one time a year i get time to take it to the track........................................

can be rebuilt, just needs to be done correctly

 

I got my short block direct from gm spo u need an employee to purchase has to be cash at the dock.
short block for car was around 800
for truck (4 bolt main) under 1000
mine was for a boat ( 4 bolt better crank has to be better balanced or will shake apart boat) mercruiser part #under1200

You have to work for gm not a dealer
then with a part # you can go to spo ( i believe it stands for service parts operation)and pick up for cost at the dock
