Another swap question, HELP!
I am going to buy a 1991 RS which I believe is a great car for doing whatever you want to. I want to get rid of the 305 tbi in favor of a rebuilt (or crate motor) 350 or bigger with a carb. No EFI anymore, just stright carb all the way... I want serious power and the carb seems to be the cheapest and easiest way to do just that. I read the posts on swaping a 305 for a 350 but I never see anything about getting rid of the computer stuff in favor for no computer stuff and a stright carb set up. It's a 1991 RS with a 305 tbi, so what do I do with the computer stuff? Just un plug it or leave it hanging or rip it out? What about the fuel pump, I will need an after market one, right? What do I need to know before doing this, in that I mean with the computer and anything else I need to know it swapping from a tbi to a carb with more displacment...
Thanks in advance...
PS This is my "3rd" 3rd gen build up, but my first swap ever! My last car was the yellow 1992 Z28 with the 5.7 TPI that ran high 11's with bolt ons and NOS. This time I want all motor to pull mid 11's. Please help...

I have been out of the game for a while, finishing college and getting started back on active duty and moving all over the US again. Now that I am in one place for a few months, I am ready to build another 3rd gen. I am thinking I will buy my block first and build it, then buy the car and just perform the swap the best I can. I just need to know the out's and in's of the computer stuff. Also, any little thing that my hinder me that someone can help me out with, you know, little secrets..

well
i did the same thing, sorta
i went from a computer controlled carb to an edelbrock carb
TBI is very similar
you'll need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (3 port)
carb, intake, vacuum advance distrib.....
thats about it, either be careful cutting out the old harness, or just leave it
good luck
