LT1 Question about Swap/Harness
LT1 Question about Swap/Harness
Hi everyone,
Just about ready to swap in the LT1 in but I need to know if I need to get more harnesses then those already on the motor. My mechanic says that I need the "in dash" harness so I can connect the gauges and ignition. I have attached some photos of the harnesses and wires on the engine so if you could tell me what they are, and what I need it would be great. I am swaping the engine into and 84 camaro that was originaly equiped with a 4bbl carb.
Thanks for your time!

I just spliced my stock harness together with the one from the LT1. I looked in the tech articles for the bulkhead connector wiring diagram (the one going into and out of the firewall). I then got a bulkhead connector diagram for my LT1 and started splicing.
Your speedometer won't work either.
If you want the LT1 diagram I have just say and i'll email it to you.
