Smokin fast and 305 tbi aren't a really good fit together...haha, but if you want to stick with the 305 and I don't know how indepth you want to go, probably not internal engine, or why would you want to stick with the 305. Without ever taking the vavle covers off, you could upgrade you induction with a better filter, upgrade ignition with an MSD ignition system or something like it, there are alot of good ones out there. Upgrade your exhaust with a Flowmaster system or something equivilent. The induction and exhaust will allow the engine to breath better and that will be good for a few hp. You can also look into something like a new chip and thermo. They help with timing and mixture. The thermo will keep you cool. Also, you can't forget the cheapest of all horsepower, Nitrous. Running a 75 shot of that would make a huge difference. And you probably have a crappy rear (2.73's) in the RS. Getting a new set of gears like a 3.73 ratio would help out alot. This is pretty minor, you may have thought of the same stuff.

If you've already done air cleaner, ignition, exhaust, gears, chip and nitrous, then you're looking at cam and heads next. Fully ported World S/R Torquer 305 heads, a computer compatible roller cam from Crane or Comp. Intake manifold.

Frankly, though, if this is just until you get a 350, save your money and put it into the 350. You might be able to use the cam and intake on the 350, but not the heads.
