i want to swap a 305 to a 454 in an 86 camero and i don't know what has to be done to prepare for it in the engine compartment. this is my first engine swap and any help would be appreciated.
mmm, I like them inexperienced...
but more to the point, if you have never done an engine swap, the I wouldnt reccomend going to a big block. While I have never done this, there is quite a bit of problems with the exaust, fuel line routing, overheating requiring an aluminum radiator, removal of the ac, fuel pump issues.
When I swapped in my 350 that was the first swap I had ever done, and it was a pain in the ***. Not that it was hard, but I was a newbie to it. I didnt know what needed to be removed, where stuff went, what wires went where, etcetc

alright there texas longhorn go easy on the guy. a big block swap isnt all taht easy especially with the small engine bays. u can do it but u might have to fabricate(cut or dent) the inner fenders to make everything fit.
